Oh, Skye

We lost Skye last night. The girls and I worked on a poster and put it at the end of our road where everyone gets their mail. We live on a dead end road with only a few houses in the middle of forested land. I'd like to believe a neighbor would find him but fear the worst. We have wildlife everywhere.

Lexie made the above shirt. Yes, she drew him all by herself.

He is very much missed.

I really hope a miracle happens and Skye blue pink finds his way home to you .... my thoughts are with you, my friend...

At this point I think it would indeed be a miracle. I'm so sad. Of all my hobbies (which I'm including the painting since I don't make any money at it either) this one is the hardest. When I have a bad day with paint or garden it's no big deal. Tomorrow is another day with those things. A bad day with dogs, especially this kind, it takes longer to get your joy back.
Thanks for your kind words, Traci, and to everyone who has been sending their loving support. It is good to have friends.

Don't give up hope. Friends lost a Maltese in a rural area (with lots of coyotes). She was found, a week later, a lot skinnier, hiding in a little cave at the edge of a ditch. I'm sure you've received a million suggestions. The one I'd make is to walk your area with another of your dogs -- Skye's favorite. If he is holed up somewhere, that might bring him out. . . . good thoughts going your way . . .

Thanks, Penni. We'll give it a try. Fortunately the weather is supposed to be better this weekend and getting up and down our hills will be easier.
